There is a river flowing from the heart of God

There is a river flowing from the heart of God...

There is a river of life flowing from the heart of God! This morning i found myself in the middle of that river with my precious son Hudson! Let me explain...

The setting, me discouraged this morning from the pressures of life! Mostly financial today, having discouraged my husband and feeling disheartened in so many ways. Why is it we have to hit a wall quite often before turning to God, our source of all that is good? I had hit it hard this morning, the wall that is.

So i decided to turn to day three of a week long reading that follows the events of the holy week leading up to Easter morning, titled ,"Easter Week in Real Time"...http://www.rabbitroom.com/?p=12217#comment-147351
Today was Wednesday's reading. It was the story of Mary of Bethany pouring out her alabaster jar of perfume upon Jesus. This story never fails to move me deeply. Nor did it today. After reading, into the room walks my son Hudson. After having had these readings inspire and affirm my faith I decided to share them with him too. It had been my intentions to share them each day.  Now was as good a time as any, so respectfully he sat down and listened.
Do you know how sometimes you can talk about God...and yet the best times are when you talk with him? Today was one of the "with" times for us both! As i shared from these readings, I felt it important to remind Hudson how blessed God is when we put our faith in him.  As a matter of fact one of Jesus' friends, Thomas would not believe Jesus was really who He said He was unless he could prove it by showing all the wounds from crucifixion! So very willingly Jesus showed them....But he then made a profound comment, "Thomas you believe because you've seen...but there will come a time when others will believe with out seeing. He then said,Blessed are they!

And who to better understand the difficulty of relating to a Spiritual God, separated by our physical limitations, than Jesus!

The sprit of our Lord helps our faith become "alive" and real and  today that happened to us. His presence was powerfully experienced in our time together. That's the best way i can describe this time. It was as if the Lord was pouring Himself out over us. As we sought him we found ourselves in the middle of that river that flows from the heart of God.

We won't be the same...he or i

It was as if an alabaster jar of God's loving kindness had been broken this morning, over us....
